The primary purpose of an office is to provide a workplace and working environment primarily for administrative and managerial duties/activities. Therefore, an ESTATE OFFICE would be described as a place where all activities relating to real estate issues are carried out, or a place where real estate transactions are executed. In this regard, the corporate goal of real estate firm should be to provide an integrated range of real estate services in such a way to optimise efficiency and create structures that will maximise short and long term gains. The estate firm must therefore be client focused and results oriented; and building long term relationships through the creation of innovative professional service.
Generally, real estate firms owe professional duty of care to its clients in terms of the services it sets out to provide. The execution of the professional duty depends, largely upon sound organisation, management and observance of professional rules and regulations. Furthermore, the estate office must have the determination to provide clients with the highest quality of professional service. To this end, there must be a deliberate effort to render their clients with efficient service. These efforts become necessary due to the realisation that productivity of an estate office has a strong bearing on the economic viability of such firm. In order to achieve this feat, an estate office must be properly organised, and well managed, so as to ensure that the aim and objectives of establishing the estate office are met. However, in Nigeria, before an ideal estate office can be established, there are some specific procedures or guidelines that must be followed. The above indicated issues, and other related ones, are the primary focus of this book.
Without doubt, this is one Book that proprietors of estate firms, and those aspiring to establish theirs will find very useful as appropriate guidance and aid would be obtained, thus ensuring their successful estate office operations.
