APBN is the apex organisation comprising 27 professional bodies, whose main objective is to provide Nigeria with an effective forum for transmitting to government the collective views of the nation’s professionals on matters of public interest, which they believe will enhance further development and economic growth of the country.
The APBN is an umbrella body of government recognised professional institutes, institutions and associations and, thus being able to promote an era of cooperation and the harmonious co-existence among the numerous professional bodies that abound in Nigeria. APBN main goal is to have the capacity to speak with one voice on behalf of its member-bodies, while at the same time, give professional and technical advice to government on national policy issues affecting the professionals and their respective practices.
The activities of APBN started in 1983 and in January 1992, APBN was given official recognition by the Federal Government.
